Did your loved one experience a stroke or other traumatic brain injury? Are you looking for relevant, family-centered therapy that addresses YOUR family’s needs and wishes?
Speech Path of Brevard begins and ends with the family. Treatment is centered on personalized goals determined by the needs of YOUR family. Our therapists provide individualized treatment based on goals decided on as a team to ensure client and caregivers are an integral part of the recovery process.
Following a stroke or traumatic brain injury, a person may be diagnosed with one of the following disorders:
Aphasia: difficulty producing (speaking & writing) or understanding (listening & reading) language.
Apraxia: difficulty planning the movements required to produce speech.
Dysarthria: weakness of the muscles required for speech production, resulting in distorted sounding speech.
Dysphagia: difficulty swallowing or eating post stroke.
We offer personalized goals and treatments to assist in reaching the highest level of independence for your loved one. Whether that be through saying the names of their family again (including the furry ones!), ordering for themselves at their favorite restaurant, returning to work or school, reading the newspaper or eating on their own again, our team will provide caregiver & family education as well as take home tasks to ensure carryover and practice outside of therapy sessions.
We offer individual and group lessons (as interest allows). Online therapy is also available for those who qualify.
There is no achievement too small or too grand when you are recovering with the dedicated therapists at Speech Path of Brevard!
